Trumpet Talk - Some thoughts on how to make trumpet playing easier and more enjoyable.

Jaimie is the Adjunct Professor of Trumpet at Western Oregon University.  In addition, he teaches band at Adam Stephens Middle School in Salem, OR.  Jaimie has a very successful private studio in Salem.  His students have placed at the National Trumpet Competition, The International Trumpet Guild Middle and High School Solo Contest, and have consistently placed at the O.S.A.A. State Solo Contest.  Jaimie performs throughout the Willamette Valley.  Jaimie's teachers include Boyde Hood, Roy Poper, and Mario Guarneri.

In 2004, I formed the Salem Trumpet Ensemble with 11 students and took them to Denver, CO to perform at the International Trumpet Guild Conference. This was an unbelievable experience for both my students and myself.  It was an amazing opportunity for my students to perform for such an incredible audience, and to be able to hear many of the world's greatest trumpet players live.  I hope to take another group to the 2008 ITG confernce in Vancouver, B.C.  Please check out our Denver performance from 2004, and feel free to email me with comments or questions.  A big thank you to Lewis Norfleet for his wonderful composition, Hall of Trumpets, written specifically for this event.   Listen to their performance.
